Entry # 9

Journal entry made by Christina on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 20:55:32 (EST)

Regionals went really well for me this year. I ended up winning my qualifying group and I made it to the finals. So having one more year left in juvenile I hope to make it to Jr. Nationals next year. Anyways, this season is starting off sooner than I thought. I got invited by the USFSA developmental program to skate in Vienna, Austria at a club international event. I was sooo excited and can't wait to compete. Since my new programs will not be ready yet. I'll be using my free skate from last year, which I still love. I'm really looking forward to meeting the rest of the US skaters that are on my team and having a great time. I'll keep you posted.

Sorry it has been awhile since my last update! I had a wonderful time and a great experience playing the role of Clara in the Nutcraker for our holiday show. I also went up to Kentucky to perform an exhibition of my new program. I got to meet alot of new people and make some new friends! I had a little set back when I had an accident during practice and my knee was sliced by a blade. I had to get 12 stitches and did not make it to my first competition in Nashville. But everything is healed now and I'm back to practicing normal. Atlanta Open went well last week. I ended up placing 2nd in the final round in the juvenile free and 4th in intermediate short. I hope to skate cleaner and add more points as I get ready to compete at Liberty. Well that's all for now.
Love,

Christina

Well I just finished the Peach Open this weekend. My program was pretty good and I ended up in First place! Now its time to work harder so I can do my best and peak at Regionals! I'm trying hard to stand up on my double axel. I'm going to try to have it ready for Regionals if I need to put one in. I started back with ballet last week. I'm in a level 2/3 class with alot of older students but it's fun. Homeschooling is fun but harder work than I thought it would be. Well gotta run

Bye

Hi Hope everyone is having a great summer!
I have had a successful summer placing 1st in my qualifying round at the Atlanta Open and placing 4th in my group at St. Paul. I started homeschooling this month which I like very much. I think that this will allow me to achieve my goals for this season. Plus I like having my mom as a teacher! Way cool I started working on speed drills and power skating with my friend/coach Kaysi Kitsell and I'm also trying to get my doubles higher by going back and working on singles with Davin Grindstaff. Aren and Sherry have been continuing to work hard with me on my jumps and spins. Thanks guys for all your hard work and support. Hi to all of my friends at the rink and to all those who have signed my guestbook! Next up is the Peach Open and then Regionals1- Already!!
Gotta Run Bye

Well my first experience as a juvenile skater went well. I went to Florida Open in Orlando. In the qualifying round I made a few mistakes but I placed high enough to make it to the final round. My freeskate in the final round was great. I did all my elements and had a clean skate. When I got off the ice I told my mom how good that felt! I ended up placing third in the final round! I was sooooooooooo happy! Then my friend Theresa and I went to the beach for a week in Ormond, Fl. We skated in Daytona and ran on the beach every day. Now it's back to work!!
See ya

Well, the new skating season for me is now here. Next week I'll be skating at the Florida Open in the Juvenile level. I'll also be competing at the Atlanta Open, Liberty Open, Peach Open and maybe one or two other events before Regionals. I have been working hard during this transitional year to learn new jump technique. Aren has been very patient with me, but he says that I have caught on pretty quickly. I'm excited to show off a couple new spins that Sherry and I been working on- Swiss layback and flying camel into a back biellman. I'm working on double axel both in the harness and out. Hopefully, I have something to show by regionals. I'll be taking my Intermediate moves test before summer and Alex Zahradnicek and I are having fun together practicing our dance tests together with the help of our coach Carol Murphy.
Thanks to all who have supported me!

Love,
Christina (Froggy)

Today was the Peach Open, a future series competition in Duluth, Georgia. I got first place in all of my events - pre-juv. fs, pre-juv. jumps, and juvenile spins! That is the first time that I got first in all my events!! Thank you to my coaches Aren Nielsen and Sherry Eddings for helping me do my best and have fun at the same time! This is what skating is all about! I can't wait to go to South Atlantic regionals in Tampa!
Bye for now

Thank you for checking out my new website . I hope you like it. I am currently training for the Peach Open during Labor Day weekend then I will be preparing for South Atlantic Regionals. Also, I made a coaching change. My jumps coach Aren Nielsen, two time US National Bronze medallist, is now my head coach. I look forward to working with him full time and improving my skating.
That's all for now!
Bye
